Kali Linux at Microsoft Windows

Hello guys!

Today I will guide you how to install Kali Linux at your Windows Operating System without dual boot and virtual box support.

You can completely enjoy all of the features of Kali Linux.

Ok? Then how to install it in your running windows environment? I will describe you all of the process step by step and just follow them carefully.

Let’s start…

Operating System Requirement

*Microsoft Windows
*Version 2004 (OS Build 19041.329) or later
(Latest Version of Microsoft Windows)

Step 1.1

Open Power Shell as Administrator and Run:

Enable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName Microsoft-Windows-Subsystem-Linux

[Note: Restart Computer]

Step 1.2

Open Power Shell as Administrator and Run:

First Run

dism.exe /online /enable-feature/featurename:VirtualMachinePlatform /all /norestart

The run

dism.exe /online /enable-feature/featurename:Microsoft-Windows-Subsystem-Linux /all /norestart

[Note: Restart Computer]

Step 2.1

Download and install the WSL2 Linux Kernel
Link: https://aka.ms/wsl2kernel

Step 2.2

Open Power Shell as Administrator and Run

wsl –set-default-version 2

Step 3.1

*Install Kali Linux from the Microsoft Store

Link : https://www.microsoft.com/store/productId/9PKR34TNCV07

Run Kali Linux App and finish the initial setup.

Step 3.2

Update Kali

kali@kali:~$ sudo apt update

kali@kali:~$ sudo apt full-upgrade -y

Step 3.3

To install a metapackage we first need to update and then install the desired package:

kali@kali:~$ sudo apt update

kali@kali:~$ sudo apt install -y kali-linux-default

kali@kali:~$ sudo apt full-upgrade -y

Step 3.4

Install win-kex

kali@kali:~$ sudo apt update

kali@kali:~$ sudo apt install -y kali-win-kex

kali@kali:~$ sudo apt full-upgrade -y

Step 3.5

Install GUI

kali@kali:~$ sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade -y

kali@kali:~$ sudo apt install kali-desktop-xfce -y

Step 3.6

XRDP

kali@kali:~$ sudo apt install xrdp -y

kali@kali:~$ sudo service xrdp start

kali@kali:~$ ip add

Note: Below in the kali terminal you can see like that

eth0: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 1500 qdisc mq state UP group default qlen
1000
link/ether 00:15:5h:36:23:3f brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff
inet 172.18.29.17/20 brd 172.18.255.255 scope global eth0

Here you got the ip like that

 172.18.29.17

 Ok done!

Step 4.1

Open Remote Desktop Connection App from Windows All Apps
(You can search also)

Input IP 172.18.29.17
(This is an example ip, input which you got from step-3.6
)
then click to connect.
Enjoy!

Note: Next using time just follow Step-3.6 and Step-04

Open Kali Linux
Then run

kali@kali:~$ sudo service xrdp start

kali@kali:~$ ip add


Open Remote Desktop Connection
Input IP and click to connect.
Enjoy!
